I have always found a calling to give back to the community. During my time in college, I found a way to incorporate my skills as a writer in a volunteer capacity. For three years I worked as an intern with the communications team for the Coralville Community Food Pantry. My internship was focused on attending monthly meetings with the communications team to budget the monthly newsletter. I wrote volunteer and community spotlights which highlighted the hard work and support of community members as well as local organizations. Attached below are some of the newsletters where my spotlights can be found. They are typically located toward the bottom of the newsletter.
