Chilean Ministry of Energy

During the summer of 2016, I had the amazing opportunity to participate in an internship with the Chilean Ministry of Energy in Santiago, Chile. Particularly, I worked as a communications intern with the Office of the Seremi which works with the public for political programs relating to energy in the metropolitan area of Santiago. I worked on the campaign “Mi Hogar Eficiente,” or my efficient home. I helped out in several capacities including: developing emails to inform local resident and officials about upcoming events in their area, attending daily events to take photographs and talk with locals, managing social media accounts like Twitter and Flickr to keep an online presence. I even had the opportunity to make some videos for the organization including one for the organization’s sixth year anniversary party. My entire internship was in Spanish which was a great chance for me to practice my second language. Here are some examples of the content I created while abroad:

Club Ancianos Alianza: An opportunity to connect with the older generation in a low-income area. We visited an elderly home and talked about what the government is doing to help improve their situation. We brought gifts, but the biggest surprise was a dance couple that showed off some amazing moves. It was all smiles from the audience.

Invitaciones para Los eventos: I developed emails that are attracting to the eye but concise and informative so people and authoritative figures in the area could be aware of and attend our presentations.
